My Comments: I arrived in Aviano spring of 1958 and was part of that small detachment housed at the AFB. I remember our barracks were just behind the Af NCO club. Mc Fadden was our C.O. He had a fancy jeep with a lot of chrome. Took it on a joy ride up the mountain one time. We worked out on the air strip in a quanset hut. I was MOS 982.20. Some of the guys I recall were Tom Cianfrani fr. Hollywood,Fl. Sully Sullivan. I returned to CONUS aboard the USNS Geiger in April 1960 with Allen Campell, Donald Gentry, Joseph Synder, Herman Le Jeune and Vernon Bailey. Our mission was completed and looked like the outfit was getting new assigments. Had a great time there, liked the work, liked the travel and liked the people. We were there before the Pope closed the Mille houses.Just found this WEB site and looked like you needed some imput on 1957 to early 1960. Any questions send me an e-mail.
