Title: Stranger on the shore
Am I trespassing? A foriegner from England? browsing as I do - which is still A1 excitement for an 80year old - I am filling in the gaps in my Korean War diary 1952-53. being ex Royal Navy I served on H.M.S. Opossum a small inshore heavily armed frigate and quietly patrolled around your area....I have 37 degrees 32N and 125 degrees 8E in my log book and the name Paeong Yong Do so I think your island back in the '50's was a kind of corner post/come check point for our patrol work in the area. We salvaged a few of your fliers from the oce-cold water and fed a few local orphans. I even remember seeing some US films - all about long legs and big bosoms and very popular too! I cannot believe what you chaps have been up to - perhaps I can chat yo someone who might like to know more about the crazy antics of a Limey boat in your playground! Good Luck to you all - young and old .....Peter Shore
