Hello ASA Some of you know that I served in the lecce detachment from 62 to 64 then reserve asa unit as well as many others for total of 35 years retiring as first sgt Bravo company 324th signal Bn. Sad to say health problems at this time. Waiting to find out if I am going to be in line for a heart transplant. Would love to keep in touch about the possibility of one more ASA reunion.
I was assigned to the 4227th support gp/75th asa in aviano, March 1957 until the move to Venzia. I left there in April 1960. I would like to know if there is going to be any more reunions. I would also would like to hear from anyone I have served with. x ASA member

Carol and I will put any Army Reunion on our calender when a date is selected. When the last reunion was cancelled, we were a little disappointed. We hope to attend the next one.
So, what's the latest on a potential reunion? Would love one in Vicenza.
Go for it John,Hoob, Ted

Way too many are gone so it would seem that any viet nam age vet would be retired and therefore ready to lie about their past missions. Have been in touch with Mac Mcckusick, Gene Vanderpool and Gene Carver from the Lecce site. Lets try at least one more time. Had death in family prohibiting attendance to the last reunion.
Is there any interest in having any more reunions. We have an offer to have one in southern Indiana this year if we have enough interested parties. Please leave your thoughts on this ASAP to determine if any planning should be started. Thanks.

I was just looking for some of the equipment we used and found your site. I was a Morse intercept (058) trick chief in the 280th (and later) 78th USASA Special Operations Unit in Berlin from 1960 through 1963. Part of our equipment was the AN/TRD-4A setup very similar to the one pictured on your web site. One difference from the photo is that our setup had the goniometer cover removed so we could get to the wheel faster for aural fixes. Most of the signals of interest to us were too weak for the scope display.
We had some pretty hairy times there. As I tell people, the Wall went up on my watch!
By the way, is it possible to get hold of the .gif or other form of the scope display that you created for your logo?
Happy New Year!
Same to you, Mac, and anyone else who wanders by here.
Just wishing everyone Happy Holidays.

You have done a great job with this site. Hope you continue to expand it.
Would love to hear from some of the old guys... 1961-1963. I was part of the team that set up Chaing Mai.
Interesting site! Yuz guys forgot some of the most interesting DF stuff! i.e., the famous AN/PRD-1 of Viet Nam fame! But, its sucess depended upon a good operator and a well maintained reciver. Still looking for the guy who put a .45 cal round into one of my receivers!
Thanks, Rich. Same to you and everybody.
Since nobody has written anything here in a while I will wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
