Orderly Room > Site Log (Guest) Book

Hi and welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy the visit or revisit. As you may remember, if you served (and for those who do not remember or served, but are just interested) the CQ kept a log/report of activities during their tour of duty. This consisted of mandatory items to report, disturbances, and anything else that would be of interest to the CO or 1st Sergeant.

You are invited to enter appropriate log entries below.

Very interesting, I will have to check my old photos to stimuate the memory. I helped set up the Dong Ba Thin (Cam Ranh), Ham Tan and Ben Hoa sites in 1966, Then went to Vint Hill Farms and the back overseas to Chitose, separated 1969.

Fun Site. Bring back memories. I served in the ASA 9/66 through 9/70. Was at Ft Devens 11/66 through 10/67 for 33B/33C school. I was then assigned to Shemya AFB for a year and from there went to ASA Field Station Berlin.

Just came across this site..was stationed in SVN in '62. Originally at Ben Hoa and then was involved with the set up of the original site at Phu Bai (5/62). From there back to Devens as an instructor..not for me so I "voluntered" to set up the ASA site in Puerto Rico (Sebana Seca) we were stationed with the Naval Security Group there....out of Army in 2/64.

Great Site, I was one of the last members of Detachment Schleswig. It was a sad day when we closed her down and folded her flag. But for all those who served there, we closed her down right with a party/bonfire and half the town was there.
Funny I find this site today . In three days I retire after 20yrs of service and Schleswig was my first tour. Great site

Greetings all, just discovered the site. I served in Schleswig from '80-82, and 83-86. Have lost contact with all of the guys that served there. Martin Beringer, Paul Giamalis, Joel Learned, Al Middleton and a few of the MP's, including John Wimbish and Carl "Bumper" Wilson. just returned from Schleswig, yesterday, and had an opportunity to drive through the town - not much has changed except for a wind turbines and a giant radio tower. As for the Detachment itself, looked as if the German Army was using it for some time of training.. antennas, fences, are all gone. Buildings and burm, however remain.

Served in ASA from 10/67 to 09/75. Was a dittybopper. Was with the 374th RR CO and the 156th Avn CO in Viet Nam. Also at Two Rock Ranch in Two Rock California, with the Air Force in Karamesel Turkey, South Korea, TDY Different Pacific Islands. I still can not figure out how I made it into the ASA. I was just a ignorant farm kid fresh out of high school from the middle of Minnesota. It was worth the trip. Great site. Forgot something. Also was at Udon and Ubon Ratchitani in Thailand

Later I was stationed at VH Farms and on to Germany for a second tour. I would like to hear from everybody. pwcabaniss@yahoo ...

Dave, more the merrier. Glad that Barney told you about the web site. Besides photos, stories and memories are also welcomed. In fact, both photos and stories and memories together are most welcome for Schleswig and any of the other DF Sites.

Hi Tom, Barney Reynolds gave me a call this afternoon and told me about this site. What a great job you have done. I'll try and dig up some old photos of Schleswig and send them off to you. I was there from August of 1969 till February 1971... Funny thing Barney and I were at Devens together.. Different MOS's, I was a 33C, but in the same barracks. He went off to Nam and I headed to Korea.
Best, Dave

I notice Rich entered a comment that Jerry Najvar passed away recently. It was actually 12-31-07 (this past December). He is my dad, and I miss him dearly. I would love to hear of any memories anyone has of him. My email is spnajvar@yahoo dot com
