For many years most Army Security Agency DF Operators started out at "G" Division of the USASATC&S, Fort Devens, Massachusetts. This usually involved being diverted, after some weeks in the Manual Morse Interceptor course to the DF operators course after passing 15/18 gpm (groups per minute) in the Manual Morse Interceptor course. So here are a few pictures of "G" Division and Devens that have been contributed. Yes! It (G Division) was unfenced until some time after June 1960 and before January 1972. Maybe someone will pop up with the exact dates. Would also like to get a couple more earlier photos. If you have some please contribute.
NOTE about the two photos above. The crest is the USASATC&S ' worn until the school was deactivated in 92/93 or somewhere there about. The photo adjoining is looking across the Devens parade ground to the main school houses of TC&S. The crest photo/scan is from my saved crest and the photo of the school building contributed by Mac MacKusick (Lecce & Ravenna Detachments). TC&S = Training Center and School. The students and cadre were held/assigned to the USASA Training Regiment; Headquarters Company (most of the School Cadre) and two Student Battalions.
